WHO IS JESUS CHRIST – IS HE A JEW, GENTILE OR NEITHER NOW?

IS HE A JEW, GENTILE OR NEITHER NOW? SINCE IN CHRIST THERE ARE NO JEWS OR GENTILES ANYMORE

Eph 3:4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) :5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; :6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

“He is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit not in the letter; whose praise is not from men, but from God” (Romans 2:29).

“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; FOR you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28).

“Don’t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings, and have put on the new man, that is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator, where there can’t be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, bondservant, freeman; but Christ is all, and in all. (Colossians 3:9-11 WEB).

“As we have said before, so I now say again: if any man preaches to you any gospel other than that which you received, let him be cursed” (Galatians 1:9). Jesus saw this threat coming when he tried to warn the disciples saying, “Beware of the leavening of the Pharisees.” And Paul warns, “A little leaven leavens the whole lump.”

“Even the terms American Christians, Jewish Christians, and so on are oxymorons in the mind of God. We who belong to Jesus are either in Christ and He is our all in all, making all things new, or we are of another spirit, clinging to another gospel and another christ. This one body in Christ is no more Jewish than it is Gentile. The doctrines of British Israel and Arian Nations are as divisive as any Christian clinging to Judaism. In every way the body of Christ is NEW! (2537 kainos “of a new kind, unprecedented, novel, uncommon, unheard of.” -Strong). Nothing like it had ever been seen before. This one new man, consisting of both Jews and Gentiles, is a new race, no longer of the old adamic lineage but something unheard of before. It is not of this world.”

The name of Jesus ITSELF in New Testament Greek is “Iesous” (e-ay-soos’) itself a hellenization of the Hebrew יְהוֹשֻׁעַ (Yĕhōšuă‘, Joshua) or Hebrew-Aramaic יֵשׁוּעַ (Yēšûă‘), both meaning “Yahweh delivers” or “Yahweh rescues . In the New Testament, in Luke 1:26-33, the angel Gabriel tells Mary to name her child “Jesus”, and in Matthew 1:21 an angel tells Joseph to name the child “Jesus”. The statement in Matthew 1:21 “you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins” associates salvific attributes to the name Jesus;

Revelation 7:17–For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water.

Most scholars agree that the New Testament was written in Greek.

The name of CHRIST ITSELF in New Testament Greek ( /ˈkraɪst/) is derived from the Greek Χριστός (Khrīstos), meaning “the anointed” or “the anointed one”,; And this remained Christ’s name throughout the Roman Empire…. Aramaic – Ancient became the common language across the Middle East from the 6th century BC. By the time of Jesus, it had partly replaced Hebrew as the language of Palestine especially in Galilee Although no originals have been found, more than 5,000 Greek manuscripts from the next few centuries – complete, in part, or fragments – still exist, They all help to confirm how accurately the Bible has come down to us. They also show the Greek was not a special religious language, but the common “koine” spoken by ordinary people throughout the Greek-speaking world.

One reasons that the New Testament was written in Greek and not Hebrew is that Hebrew was no longer a day-to-day language, even among the Palestinian Jews, who now spoke Aramaic. The Diaspora Jews spoke Greek The New Testament, being the Christian bible, would never have been written in Hebrew, as it had nothing to do with Judaism. Thus it was in Greek and Coptic and never in Hebrew. About 1/3 of the New Testament is actually the Old Testament being quoted,
Among the major books of the New Testament:

· The Epistle to the Hebrews is almost universally regarded as an exceptional work of Greek writing. Even in the early centuries of the Church, commentators wrote of its elegant Greek style.

· Paul’s epistles were written in Greek, for a Gentile audience.

· Mark, Matthew and Luke contain sections of text that are identical in Greek, because Matthew and Luke used Mark as their major source. If translation from or to Aramaic (or Hebrew) had been involved, the translation process would have resulted in changes to the text, but not the meaning. Matthew used the Greek ‘Septuagint’ translation of the Hebrew Bible for his Old Testament references, indicating that he was more familiar with Greek than with Hebrew. Luke inadvertently conjoined Mark’s previous/subsequent text surrounding the Missing Block, using the same Greek words. All the New Testament gospels were written in Greek.

Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
